Hi all,
I am having an issue with RSLogix 500 randomly dropping the connection to a Micro1400 plc. A connection drop also happens when I try to open any of the data files (it does sometimes work though) and sometimes also if I change values of integers on the go.
The rotating ladder symbol near 'Forces' button on the top left stops rotating and after a while I get a 'Communication to the processor lost' error and I need to press retry twice in a row for it to reconnect.
This is a new laptop but I was working with RSlogix 500 before and didn't have any issues until this started...
Any ideas would really help as it's become impossible to troubleshoot a PLC at the moment.
Thanks in advance
Solution seems to have been found as follows:
In RSLinx, Communications menu, choose 'Configure CIP Options'.
On the 'PCCC Encapsulation in CIP' tab, set the following 'Messaging Connection Parameters'...
On the 'PCCC Encapsulation in CIP' tab, set the following 'Messaging Connection Parameters'...

8.00 Sec. retry interval, 256.00 sec. timeout (drop-down selection)
Max. 'Fast' Connections per PLC - set it to 1
Max. 'Slow' Connections per PLC - set it to 1
Leave all the other settings as they are. Restart computer.
